CBNSC Race Training ( Biathlon & Cross-Country) – By Invitation Only
Summer & Autumn April 2016 – Sept 2016 Glenmore Lodge, Thursdays 18.30-20.00
Winter October 2016- March 2017 Glenmore Lodge, Saturdays 12.30-13.30
CBNSC Race Training Sessions are open to Club members who have been invited to attend by the Head Coach. Selection and continued attendance will be based upon technical and physical ability, commitment, attitude and other considerations. Those invited to attend these sessions are expected to attend on a regular basis and should be prepared to attend additional training sessions. It is also expected that members of this group will compete in suitable events, including the GB Rollerski Series Events, the GB Cross-Country Ski Championships and the GB BIathlon Championships. It is also expected that Race Trainees will be willing to undertake some training in their own time, including fitness training (eg: running, cycling, rollerskiing). In order to do so it is likely to become essential that they have and maintain suitable ski or rollerski equipment of their own.
Please Note that an additional fee may be payable for Biathlon training sessions where there is a focus on developing shooting skills. This is neccessary to meet the additional cost of ammunition used. (See Membership Page)
Equipment is provided by the club for use at the training sessions only. Members are required to bring a cycle helmet, which must be worn. Sorry, but failure to comply will mean ABSOLUTELY NO rollerskiing
The following are recommended;
* old clothes or thin tracksuits/running tights, as falls onto knees, elbows & backsides are possible.
* thin gloves are desirable throughout the year to protect hands. In summer cut-off cycle mitts are useful.
* knee or arm pads may also be used when rollerskiing.
* water bottle…There are no drink supplies handy by the rollerski track so it is important to have your own drink available during training sessions.
* waterproofs and in winter, warmer gloves, a windproof/waterproof jacket, thin woollen ski hat and a buff may be essential.
CBNSC Coaching staff can advise what equipment is required for the individual, for use at or outside of club training
